How does a connected alarm work without a subscription ?

At Somfy, all our connected alarms are, by default, sold without a subscription to our remote monitoring service.

They are therefore wireless home alarms, easy to install, which retain the same characteristics and offer the same functionalities regardless of any subscription to this service. You can control them yourself from your smartphone, from anywhere.

What changes with or without a subscription is simply the fact that you give, or not, a right of control over your alarm system connected to our monitoring station – against payment of a monthly fee – and the advantages associated with this professional service.

The features of our connected home alarms without subscription

As you can see, with or without a subscription, your Somfy connected alarm works in the same way ! Its characteristics depend on the security equipment that makes up your all-in-one alarm kit or those you choose for your custom-made alarm.

• A connected alarm control panel (link): the basis of any alarm system. It allows you to connect your security equipment to your Wi-Fi network, interconnect them and control them centrally from your smartphone (if you activate your home alarm, all its equipment is activated).
• Connected motion detectors, one of which can be directly integrated into your alarm control panel. They watch for the slightest suspicious movement in your home and they instantly alert you on your mobile phone if an intrusion is detected.
• A connected indoor and/or outdoor surveillance camera, very high definition day and night. Both allow you to remotely control your home to check at any time if everything is okay, or to remove doubts* when you receive an intrusion alert. From your smartphone, you can watch live footage, review your timeline for the day, download video evidence in case of intrusion, and more. These connected cameras are your eyes and even your ears ; The outdoor camera allows you to hear and speak through it (to a delivery person for example). The indoor surveillance camera has a privacy component that preserves your privacy when you don't need it.
• A connected smoke detector, which immediately alerts you in the event of suspicious smoke or fire. They start ringing and you receive a notification on your mobile phone to warn you and the neighbourhood, wherever you are.
• A connected indoor and/or outdoor siren, to scare away any burglar who tries to break into your home and alert the neighborhood. It can be triggered automatically or by clicking on your mobile control application, after verification via your connected cameras of the notified incident.
• Connected vibration and opening detectors for doors and windows. Their on-board technology makes it possible to analyze suspicious vibrations (repeated blows, crowbar, etc.) and alert you if a threat is detected. You can intervene in time, wherever you are, to avoid a burglary: warn a loved one, a neighbour, trigger your siren, call the police after your doubt, etc. The essentials of each alarm system exist alone or in a pack of 5 detectors.
• Additional control accessories, such as hands-free deactivation badges or a code keypad to activate/deactivate your home alarm when you are at home, by means other than your smartphone.
